Amount of Rs 29.11 crore transferred to the accounts of beneficiaries of food subsidy scheme
Sports complex worth Rs 1 crore inaugurated in Shahdol
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that a new government college will be established in Shahdol. The goverment will put focused efforts to develop this tribal dominated area and ensure its rapid progress. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the inauguration and bhoomi-pujan ceremony organised to transfer subsidies to eligible families under the food subsidy scheme along with other development works in Shahdol today. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has been a pioneer in the country in implementing the new education policy. New colleges and universities will pave the way for next generation’s development. Will enhance Educational facilities in Shahdol aimed to empower tribal youth with higher education enabling them to access new employment opportunities. Drumstick is also produced in large quantities in this area. With its unmatched taste and health benefits it is exported to other states. We will devise a plan to get it recognised across the country and ensure that its producers are benefitted.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav transferred a total amount of Rs 29 crore 11 lakh through a single click under the Food Subsidy Scheme to 14 districts of Madhya Pradesh dominated by the Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya special backward tribes. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also inaugurated 16 works and performed bhoomi pujan in Shahdol. The development works dedicated were worth Rs 35 crore 94 lakh and the works for which the foundation stone were worth Rs 15 crore 55 lakh.
Elevated Income of farmers and improved health through Millets
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has taken initiative for the development of the tribals. Earlier millets were labelled as the food of the poor yet our nation’s staple diet has been rice, Kodo-Kudki, Jowar-Bajra which offers health benefits. Prime Minister Shri Modi has emphasised on the use of millets. Consumption of millets is increasing in the country. The state government has decided to implement Rani Durgavati Shreeanna Protsahan Yojana to promote the production of food grains. Under the scheme, an additional amount of Rs 10 per kg will be provided as incentive to the farmers producing grains like Kodo-Kutki, Ragi, Jowar, Bajra etc. This amount will be transferred directly to the accounts of farmers.
Kodo-Kutki is mainly cultivated in Shahdol division. The use of this product will elevate the income of the farmers and ensure health benefits for the people. Ragi and other millets, considered super foods, will be promoted in this region. Under Rani Durgavati Shree Anna Protsahan Yojana, value chain will be developed including crop production, storage, processing, marketing, procurement, brand building. This will also benefit in the welfare of farmers, women, youth and the poor, which is prioritised by Prime Minister Shri Modi.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that recently a cabinet meeting was held in Jabalpur with the purpose of which was to pay tributes to brave women like Rani Durgavati and Rani Avanti Bai. Indian women are marked as the epitome of bravery in history.
Lack of resources will not hinder sports facilities
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also inaugurated the Sports Complex in Shahdol. Addressing the inauguration programme, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state-of-the-art sports complex at Pandit Shambhunath Shukla University worth Rs 1 crore will serve to hone the talent of players. Shahdol is a forest area with unique natural beauty.
Prime Minister Shri Modi is always ready for the development of tribal areas. Sports is promoted in the curriculum in the new education policy.Talents who emerged from the tribal community, are achieving great heights in the field of sports. There was a time when medals were not won in any sport except wrestling in the Asian Games and Olympics. Today Indian players are getting medals in various sports. Tribal youth will be given encouragement in sports, lack of resources will not hinder their progress.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that despite the decline in adherence to Sanatan Dharma, Indian culture remains resilient and enduring. There have been education centers like Nalanda and Takshashila in our country. Lord Shri Krishna had received education in Sandipini Ashram of Ujjain. India is progressing rapidly under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi. Our country is known for characterstics of Lord Shri Ram’s simplicity and good governance. January 22 will be a historic day for our country, when Lord Ram’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony will take place in Shri Ram Temple’s garbha griha.
Tribal Affairs Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said that a monthly amount of Rs 1500 is being given to the families of special backward tribes for nutritious food. Earlier this monthly grant amount was Rs one thousand. Training programmes will be conducted at the block level for tribal people.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s Jan Abhar yatra in Shahdol was joyously received recieved by the public. An enthusiastic crowd thronged to receive him from both sides and eagerly welcomed him.
